Vital Movement™ is a unique program for health and well being that integrates the teachings and principles of a variety of kinetic and artistic disciplines to provide intense, restorative, and therapeutic movement experiences for people of all ages and movement capacities.
| "My
vision runs with the days when our movements danced with the earth. We dipped
our pails into wells of crystal water, pulled on heavy ropes to retrieve
them, and shouldered buckets home in a delicate balance. We winnowed, weeded,
and watered the soil. We planted and plucked, cut and gathered, and brought
the harvest home. We spun the hair of sheep or flax or cotton, then stretched
our arms in weaving and reached for bright-hued threads. We braided our hair and braided our bread and braided the tassels of our dance drums. With Vital Movement we return home to these organic patterns and satisfy the body’s longing for movement that is pure, joyous, and essential. This is movement that awakens the life-force within." |
One can experience Vital Movement™ through group classes or private sessions that are uniquely designed to meet the needs of the individual client. The benefits of regular Vital Movement™ work include increased flexibility, expanded range of motion, improved balance and coordination, spinal alignment, physical strengthening, stress management, and personal integration.

...Judith Rose is the founder of Vital Movement. She developed this program through a synthesis of
the understandings and intuitions provided to her from her extensive movement
background that includes training in yoga, t’ai chi, modern and Afro-Caribbean
dance, ballet, Alexander technique, and therapeutic breath work.
She is also a certified practitioner of Ottiot
Hayyot, a meditative form of Hebrew letter movement, and a member of the

balance. Every Vital Movement class
is a deeply focused dynamic ritual that incorporates movement, music, and words
to encourage growth and transformation. Each student is supported and given
a chance to sparkle.

Participants who maintain a regular discipline of class work can look forward to the benefits of increased flexibility, expanded range of motion, improved balance and structural alignment, physical strengthening, and personal integration. Many students have reported that program attendance has been crucial in their management of stress. As one student has written: ”We move until we are moved.” Health and wellness practitioners have referred patients for Vital Movement work as a powerful adjunct to other therapeutic modalities.
